I was able to turn my background in games and entertainment into an opportunity to make digital educational products. These are all projects where one of the primary measures of success is knowledge gain. I have also been teaching at the college level since 2018 and one thing I have learned is that if a course is super boring, nobody is going to learn anything. It has been incredibly rewarding creating things that have had such a meaningful positive impact on the world. I have heard stories that the Prescription Drug Safety course has literally saved lives.

  • WORD FORCE

    WORD Force is an Early Literacy app teaching the foundations of reading. It was originally designed for kids who had fallen through the cracks and were a little bit older than most “learn to read” apps were designed for. It has since been adopted by many curriculums as a foundational reading tool.

    WORD Force follows the adventures of a team of friends who live in a space station treehouse and help to solve global issues, all while learning to read!

  • CHARACTER PLAYBOOK

    This free digital course sponsored by the NFL teaches students how to establish and maintain healthy, supportive relationships with their classmates. Through an interactive learning experience, students engage in true-to-life scenarios that explore the fundamentals of communication, conflict resolution, and managing emotions. Also, EVERFI partnered with the National Medal of Honor Griffin Institute to enhance the course by adding three videos focused on the values of courage, commitment, and integrity to help guide students in their decision-making and choices.

    It is also the first product I have designed to have its own superbowl commercial!

  • VAULT: UNDERSTANDING MONEY

    Vault - Understanding Money is a digital financial education resource that addresses both financial concepts and social-emotional learning skills that build toward better financial health. Vault focuses on critical life skills like budgeting, career planning, and healthy borrowing habits. By leveraging interactive & game-based learning, Vault immerses students in real-life financial scenarios that focus on skill building and responsible decision making.

    This gamified course features an engaging storyline, diverse cast of characters, and interactions & activities to teach students fundamental financial topics in a fun and engaging way.

  • HEALTHIER ME: INTRO TO WELLNESS

    This health & wellness course teaches students about many of the factors that help to keep their minds and bodies healthy. The curriculum takes an approach that focuses on overall physical, emotional, and social wellness will give students the tools they need to make healthy choices. Through a story-based narrative and interactive exercises, students explore topics like nutrition, exercise, hygiene, sleep, and the importance of healthy mindfulness and social connection.

    I was the design lead for several interactive Google training courses. I learned so much from making these courses! It was exciting to make a series of courses that would be standard training for hundreds of thousands of employees all over the globe!

  • PRESCRIPTION DRUG SAFETY: KNOW THE TRUTH

    This course educates students about the potential dangers of misusing prescription medications, including fentanyl. The course – developed in partnership with Truth Initiative, the public health organization behind the nationally recognized truth® youth tobacco prevention and education campaign – explores the impact misuse can have on teens' physical and mental health, relationships, communities, and futures.

  • VAPING: KNOW THE TRUTH

    Vaping: Know the Truth gives today’s students core knowledge around the health effects associated with using vaping products (nicotine, cannabis, or co-use) and offers resources to help young people quit if they already vape.

  • THE COMPASSION PROJECT

    The Compassion Project is a first-of-its-kind national initiative to provide compassion education to lower and upper elementary school students across the United States. These two digital courses provide a simple framework that teachers can use to embed compassion education into the school day. Students engage in a multi-sensory experience that allows them to explore multiple points of view as they build empathy for those around them.

    Trivia from The Training Arcade provides the perfect highly customizable engaging quiz game framework for training

    Trivia blends a 60’s gameshow vibe into an engaging, fun, and competitive experience using points, streaks, leaderboards, and timers. It can be played as a single-player or multi-player game for head-to-head competition.

  • ASKY

    ROLE: #PRODUCT MANAGER, #DESIGN TEAM LEAD

    Asky is an embeddable, customizable, fully responsive quiz product created for Arkadium. I created both the product itself and the client-facing admin site.

    You can use Asky to create polls, personality quizzes (i.e. which Hogwarts house are you?), trivia quizzes, gallery quizzes, and top 10 lists and put them anywhere on a webpage. You can display pre-roll video ads or display midroll before you get your results. It supports social sharing and leaderboards, and can funnel users to other locations.
